Hello, I'm Judith.
I'm the maker behind Julems, a ceramics brand rooted in craftsmanship and creative exploration. My journey with clay began in California, where I discovered my love for ceramics and eventually set up my own home studio.
With a background in interior, graphic, and illustration design, I’m drawn to clean lines, bold geometric shapes, texture, colour, and the balance between simplicity and detail. Over the years, I’ve developed my own approach to decorating ceramics, always leaving room for experimentation and play.
In this course, I want to share the techniques I use to explore that creative process, so you can experiment with clay, discover what you enjoy, and make each piece your own.

7 Modules exploring the art of decorative ceramics.
Starting with the foundations of working with slabs and moulds, you’ll learn how to create simple ceramic forms and prepare them for decoration. From there, each module introduces new ways to work with color, texture, pattern, and surface, giving you the tools to explore your own ideas.
You’ll move through sgraffito, underglaze, resist, and inlay techniques, working across different stages of the ceramic process from greenware to bisqueware. Along the way, you’ll see how the same techniques can be adapted to different forms and combined in your own creative experiments.
